Coffee and Tea in Italy

Tea

Coffee is central to the breakfast of Italy. Coffee is widely served in restaurants, bars and cafés.
The caffé is a popular strong coffee served in bars, while the caffé hag is a decaffeinated type of coffee. Then there is the caffé lungo or the long coffee and the caffé ristretto. Further Italy also serves the espresso modified with whipped sweet cream, called caffé con panna.
Southern Italy, Naples serves espresso with sugar, known as caffé con zucchero. Other variations of espresso include caffé corretto (with liquor), caffé machiato, caffé latte, latte machiato and cappuccino.
Piedmont region around Torino has a traditional coffee called bicerìn. It is a special type of coffee, along with caffé freddo (iced or cold coffee) and caffé Shakerato.
Tea on the other hand is not as popular as coffee in Italy. It is mostly had as cold tea during Italy's summer. Tea is also had more often during afternoon, though it’s truer in case of wealthy and elderly people of Italy.
